Position Summary: | The University of Oregon provides an array of services and activities to help students benefit fully from education programs, as well as carry out its mission of research, teaching and service. As a division of Student Services and Enrollment Management, the Office of the Registrar is responsible for student registration, enrollment and degree verification, maintenance of the student database, publication of the Schedule of Classes, collecting and posting grades, transfer credit articulation, academic records maintenance, certification of eligible students for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits, awarding degrees and issuing transcripts. These responsibilities, assignments and services are completed within institutional policies and standards as well as related state and federal laws and regulations. This position provides information and explanations of various VA and state of Oregon veterans’ education benefits to students, parents and other members of the university community, and certifies and monitor the progress of students receiving veterans’ education benefits. Acceptable performance of the duties of this position requires excellent customer service skills including patience, good judgment, discretion and positive communication techniques. Note: this position is based in at the UO Eugene Campus, but (regular or occasional) remote working arrangements may be considered after an initial 6 month training period on campus. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval. |
Minimum Qualifications: | • Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; and • Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures. |

Preferred Qualifications: | • Experience certifying students who are eligible for Department of Veterans Affairs educational benefits • Experience using BANNER, Hyland Onbase system, VA-Once, and/or ArmyIgnite Ed • Experience interpreting, applying and explaining complex Federal and State laws, rules and regulations • Experience in Higher Education |
