The Registrar is responsible for the administration of all services and operations in the Office of the Registrar and Academic Records, including Federal Compliance, Records & Technology, Records & Data, Reception & Registration, Transcripts Office, Graduation Office, Registration Appeals, School of Applied Technology Student Record Management, and Professional Development Student Record Management.
The Registrar is accountable for the integrity, security, storage of all student academic records (both credit and non-credit) in a highly automated environment; the management of technology for various student information systems and software products; the establishment of equitable, inclusive, and consistent student affairs policies and procedures, and the enforcement of academic regulations and policies governing student records; the administration of registration activities; the responsibility for the management of numerous departmental budgets; serving as the certifying official for degree and enrollment verification and reporting, Federal NSLDS reporting, NSC reporting, NJCAA athletic eligibility competition; and the certifying administrator of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Job Details
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Administration of services and operations for the offices of Federal Compliance, Records & Technology, Records & Data, Reception & Registration, Transcript, Graduation, Registration Appeal, School of Applied Technology Student Record Management, and Professional Development Student Record Management. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate full-time staff. Establish goals, priorities and provide overall direction to the Office of the Registrar & Academic Records.
Management of technology for numerous student information systems and software products for credit, non-credit, open learning, competency based, and continuing professional education. Build, update and maintain student information systems (Banner Student) tables and forms. Coordinate registration and records management functions delivered online for faculty/student self-service and in person service.
Enforcement of academic regulations and policies governing student records.
Serve as the certifying official for degree and enrollment verification and reporting, Federal NSLDS reporting, NSC reporting, NJCAA athletic eligibility competition.
Serve as the certifying administrator of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of all student records according to the law and institutional policy. Administer FERPA regulation, including the maintenance of written policy and training of college employees.
Establishment of equitable, inclusive, and consistent student affairs policies and procedures mainly focused on the administration of registration activities. Develop and implement administrative policy and procedure to facilitate timely, efficient and innovative provision of services.
Responsible for the management of numerous departmental budgets. Develop and manage Office of the Registrar & Academic Records (ORAR) fiscal budgets to assure efficient operation and quality services. Administer, review, and approve budget expenditures for ORAR programs and services.
Representation on college committees to improve systems and enhance student affairs services. Provide and often facilitate ongoing communication with student, staff and faculty. Often serve as the first point of contact when questions arise concerning various policies and procedures. Have ongoing dialogue and collection of information with many constituencies regarding student affairs services policies and procedures.
Cultivate close working relationship with administration, faculty and staff. Obtain, maintain and provide student affairs information to administration and others as needed.
Accountable for the integrity, security, storage of all student academic records (both credit and non-credit) in a highly automated environment. Develop, organize, implement, and manage all aspects of college student records retention, maintenance and storage.
Represent SLCC in state, regional and national educational organizations.
Oversee graduation application and evaluation process to ensure that students receive proper recognition for completion of course work.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum six (6) years experience as Registrar, Associate Registrar, Assistant Registrar, or comparable position.

Online services in a college setting
Word processing, Excel, Etrieve and web/online navigation
