Brief Description
A newly created position within the Office of Admissions, the Evaluation Manager will be expected to provide leadership, supervision, direction, and support to the domestic processing team of the Office of Admissions, a group of individuals tasked with helping to facilitate the enrollment of a diverse and academically distinguished student body at Oregon's premier public university. Additionally, in evaluating applications and administering special admissions programs, the incumbent will be expected to contribute perspective on the process innovation and development, such as to allow for increased operational efficiency and scalability in anticipation of future growth in enrollment. In a supervisory capacity, the person in this position will create, manage, and update procedures for domestic application processing for all levels of applicants (Undergraduate, Graduate, Post Bachelors, and other special categories), while overseeing the work of up to 8 full-time and seasonal specialists in the Office of Admissions who are tasked with the evaluation of over 30,000 applications each year. Additional expectations of the position:
• This position must be able to work occasional nights and/or weekends to fulfill special projects and events.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (an additional two years of work experience may be substituted for the BA).
• Three years of professional work experience in a position that required administrative functions and/or office management.

Professional Competencies
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; attention to detail.
• Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, project management, and time management skills.
• Proven proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (or similar scheduling/calendar program), and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage stressful or difficult situations (e.g. periods of extremely heavy workloads, continual deadlines, changing priorities, and interruptions) in a calm, constructive, and professional manner, particularly as it relates to handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in higher education.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
